We are currently seeking volunteers for the post of Trustee/Director who are willing to give approximately 10 hours pcm.

As a Director, you would be a member of the Board of Directors/Trustees that governs The Alliance and ensures that it is effectively and properly run. The Duties of the Board are to: Ensure The Alliance complies with its governing documents, law and regulations; Ensure The Alliance follows the objects in its governing document and uses its resources for those purposes; Ensure The Alliance is financially stable and invests its funds effectively; Ensure effective administration of The Alliance and that fair and proper employment practice is followed; Ensure effective strategic and succession planning; and Guard the reputation of The Alliance.
You would participate in creating and implementing the strategic direction of the organisation. You would be expected to participate fully in the work of the Board including: Read the papers provided before meetings of the Board of Trustees; Attend Board meetings; Participate on committees of the Board, Take responsibility for the work plan of the committee and report to the Board; Assist in the recruitment of staff; Promote The Alliance through your own professional networks; Make and maintain key relationships; and Represent The Alliance externally.
An interest in voluntary, community and not for profit sector working is required; A commitment to The Alliance - our values, vision and mission; A willingness to give approximately 10 hours pcm; To exhibit professionalism in all aspects of work for The Alliance; A willingness to speak in meetings; A willingness to work as part of a team; and Be non-judgemental, respectful and non-discriminatory.
Induction, support and mentoring will be provided as appropriate.
